Noor or Bashar?

LETTER NO.12

Bismillah hir Rahman nir Raheem(In the name of ALLAH, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful).

May the Peace and Blessings of ALLAH be upon the Imaam of all Prophets, Imaam of the Ummah, Imaam of Mujahideen, our Holy Prophet-Muhammad (saws), and on those who follow his (saws) guidance till the Day of Judgement.

FROM:- ABU HAFS
TO      :- MY DEAR BROTHERS AND SISTERS

ASSALAMU ALAIKUM WA RAHMATULLAHI WA BARAKATAHU

Alhamdulillah, I have started my 12th letter and this was possible only by the help of ALLAH. I thank ALLAH for all the favours He has done to me. As you all know by now that we are discussing some important teachings of ISLAM, inshaALLAH in this letter also we will learn an important aspect of Aqeedah (Belief). The topic is was the Prophet(saws) ‘Noor’(Light) or ‘Bashar’(Human)?

Muhammad(saws), ‘Noor’ or ‘Bashar’? : If we take the answer from any other source then we might get a lot of answers, but in the matter of ISLAM, then only 2 sources are to be seen and that is QUR’AN and HADEETH. Then only we will be on the straight path. If not then we will end up making decisions on our own by using our weak mind, and get misguided. May ALLAH save all of us from using our mind in ISLAMIC matters, and help us and guide us to come back to the 2 main sources QUR’AN and HADEETH, aameen.
Qur’anic Proof:
ALLAH says:
“Say (O Muhammad[saws]): I am only a man like you. It has been revealed to me that your Ilah(Deity, God) is One Ilah(Deity, God, i,e.-ALLAH). So whoever hopes for the righteousness and associate none as a partner in the worship of his Lord.”(surah-18, verse-110)
Very clear is the verse in saying that Muhammad(saws) was a human (Bashar) and not Noor(Light).

“Say (O Muhammad[saws]): ‘I am only a human being like you…….”(surah-41, verse-6)
Same is the case in this verse also. No need to explain further.

A Messenger among themselves(the people of Makkah):
ALLAH says:
“HE it is Who sent among the unlettered ones a Messenger(Muhammad[saws]) from among themselves,……..” (surah-62, verse-2)
This means that Muhammad(saws) was from the people and like them, which proves that he(saws) was a Human(Bashar), because the people were human and not light.

“Indeed ALLAH conferred a great favour on the believers when He sent among them a Messenger (Muhammad[saws]) from among themselves,……..” (surah-3, verse-164)
Again ALLAH says He sent a Messenger, and i,e. Muhammad(saws) to the people among themselves. This is again proven that what the people were the Prophet(saws) was also the same. And that is they all were Human and so was the Prophet(saws).

Proof from Hadeeth:
Salim, the freed slave of Nasriyyin, said: “I heard Abu Huraira (raa) as saying that he heard ALLAH’s Messenger (saws) as saying: “O ALLAH! Muhammad is a human being. I loose my temper just as human beings do, and I have held a covenant with you which you will not break: For a believer whom I give any trouble or invoke curse or beat, make that an expiation his nearness to you on the Day of Judgement.” (Saheeh Muslim, vol-4,no-6293)

Well now it is the Prophet (saws) himself telling that I am a ‘Human Being’. Do we need to clarify more?
Umm Salamah reported ALLAH’s Messenger (saws) as saying: “I am only a human being, and you bring your disputes to me, some perhaps more eloquent in their plea than others, so that I give judgement on their behalf according to what I hear from them. Therefore, whatever I decide for anyone which by right belongs to his brother, he must not take anything, for I am granting him only a portion of hell.” (Abu Dawood 3:3576)

It is also clear from this hadeeth that the Prophet(saws) himself said that he was a ‘Human Being’.
The Prophet(saws) was not an angel also.
ALLAH says
“And they say: ‘Why does this Messneger(Muhammad[saws]) eat food, and walk about in markets (as we)? Why is not an angel sent down to him to be a warner with him?’” (surah-25, verse-7)

This means that he(saws) was not an angel, or else why did the people say why is not an angel sent along with him. If he(saws) was an angel himself then why did they want an angel?

Some people give a narration which they attribute to the Propeht(saws) that ALLAH said that HE created the Prophet(saws) with NOOR(Light). And they say this narration is in Mussanaf Abdur Razzak(Hadeeth Book). To let you all know that this narration is not at all in that book, AND THIS IS A BIG LIE. A LIE ATTRIBUTED TO PROPHET(saws). It is such a shame that people have done so much wrong just to prove what their minds believe and what their Groups believe. Whereas, the Qur’an and Hadeeth has clearly proved that the Prophet(saws) was a ‘Human Being’ and not ‘Noor’.
Moreover, if someone feels that by saying the Prophet (saws) as a human we are insulting him, then that person is wrong. As a human he (saws) is more respected and have a high honor because just see the Mai’raj event. The Prophet (saws) was taken to the seven heavens by the angel Jibraeel(as). And after a point the angel Jibraeel(as) told the Prophet(saws) that he(Jibraeel) could not go further as his limit was their only and told the Prophet(saws) to go alone. This means that a Human is in all terms better than an angel, and the best of creation is mankind and not any other creation. And the best of mankind is the Prophet (saws). So, saying the Prophet (saws) to be a Human, is an insult? or giving him respect? Infact it is giving him(saws) respect.

I pray to ALLAH to guide us to the truth and save us from false beliefs and make us firm on the way of the Prophet(saws), and his Sahaba(raa), aameen.
